Joy Horsfall
Director, Preschool Director and Teacher
Joy is certified in Education for Life and has a Masters in Social Work. Joy has been our preschool for over a decade. She has been serving as school director since 2022.
She keeps her classroom chock full of creativity, play, and care. She shares her love of baking with her students.
Joy lives up to her name and can be found guiding the youngest members of our campus with her namesake quality daily.
Jaya Bottaro
Teacher
Jaya Bottaro is a teacher of the lower elementary class. She is a certified Education for Life teacher who has been living at Ananda Village for over 10 years.
Originally from Buenos Aires, Jaya has a natural love for children and currently leads teacher training for Education for Life International, sharing the principles with aspiring educators in the Spanish speaking world.
Narani Moorhouse
Mentor Teacher
Named Teacher of the Year in Nevada County in 2020 to honor her 40th year of service, Narani is a cherished faculty member.
She brings her boundless compassion, meticulous care, and treasure trove of wisdom to our whole school family. She specializes in the lower grades and has taught three generations of students to read!
Matthew Fredrickson
Teacher
With two decades of experience, Matthew is beloved by his students for his kindness, enthusiasm for learning, and his ability to relate to each individual student. Matthew has a BA from Ananda College in Education.
Neal Sullivan
Teacher
I grew up in Madison, Wisconsin on Lake Mendota, with nature all round me.
In school I loved PE, art, science, and social studies. At Madison Area Technical College (MATC) I earned an AA Degree (Native American Studies, French). At Evergreen State College in Olympia Washington (BA in environmental education in Nature and Science for Children).
At the Port Townsend Marine Science Center, I shared science and nature with children ages 5- 16. At the Lincoln Elementary School, I helped develop activities for students. I am in the process of earning my masters in education.
